Our Annual Camping and Fishing trip offers a fun-filled weekend for youth ages K through 12th and their families to spend a weekend together in one of Oregon’s State Park with picnic and overnight camping facilities.
The weekend schedule includes individual and group activities such as arts and crafts, bingo, volleyball, football, sack races, and tug of war. The main event of the weekend is the fishing competition where the winner takes home a First-Place trophy.
With nature as their classroom, campers learn about the environment while exploring in the outdoors. Campers return home with more confidence, new talents and new friends. As campers learn new skills, they also learn about themselves.
Keeping with our commitment to Family Engagement we here at The Center of Attention are equally focused on Youth Development. In doing so in addition to the traditional camp activities are youth and families participate in workshops and discussions.
Workshop themes include: Personal Growth, and Leadership. Activities may focus on self-esteem, self-love, body image, bullying, social justice, goal setting, stereotypes, conflict resolution, healthy choices and communication, Community Service Projects, Reflection and Self- Evaluation
